Trees....

Image
I spent a lot of time on trees and, as you can see, finally decided to get back to the hawk - I missed it in the painting after I covered up a lot of it....time to bring him back and 'capture the magic'!

Last night's progress...

Image
This was my progress last night on the redtail....putting in the scenery I lose some of the bird but will bring him back after the background is done.....not a "pretty" stage in the painting but a necessary one. I've been framing all morning and will get to the redtail this afternoon....

An old painting revisited...

Image
I put the cormorant painting aside for a bit and am reviving a painting of a redtail hawk that I started a long time ago and never finished. I am going to super-impose him on the type of landscape where I so often see them. My reference for the hawk is one I met in 2008 that was in a wildlife rehab program - hopefully by now he is flying free....

Vermont...

Image
Back from a couple of days in Vermont - a true winter wonderland, about 2 feet of snow on the ground where I was....spent a lot of time gazing, a little time snowshoeing, a little time drawing!

Off to Vermont...

Image
I finished Tessa and Cosmos today.....and tomorrow am off to Vermont for a few days....for some relaxation and inspiration! I can't wait to get some wilderness snowshoeing in....and will come home, I am sure, with many new paintings in my head!

Now the feather is finished!
