I started adding background and couldn't stop once I saw how the dark color made her pop right out at you - and I want the highest visibility possible so this is probably the way to go....even though I like it on white too. I am going to do a new sign for my mural studio - I might paint her again!

Abby is finished - now just the background and foreground work...there will be lettering for Pet Portraits at the bottom and then she is going to be fitted for a frame!

A Not-So-Snowy Day....

The colors in this photo are a little "off"...taking photos at night with flourescent lighting distorts the colors and I have not yet perfected the fix for that. I mixed up a beige paint color tonight that is helping to smooth her up a bit....she's such a cute dog, it will take me some time to do her justice!
I spent 5 1/2 hours in my framing studio today with the woodstove going - waiting for our forecasted huge snowstorm....planning on snowshoeing tomorrow. Well, no snowshoeing - unless I go to PA or MD or Dc - they got all the snow and here in CT we just have a tiny bit with a fierce wind. But I got a lot of framing and matting done....and am very pleased with the results.

Sign continued...

I did a little more painting last night - she looks wild today!

My new sign...

The very beginning of my new sign for the sign pole that is almost in front of my studio....there will be another 10"-12" on the bottom, but most of the sign is going to be this painting.

A new feather....

In the midst of chaos in the last couple of days, I painted a horse feather...
This is one of those times when I have too many projects started at once and then it becomes difficult to finish anything....but I will! I have a commission to do a painting on a satellite dish which I have primed and ready to begin, I also have drawn out a new sign for my studio here, will begin painting it tonight or tomorrow....entered two pieces of artwork into the Slater Museum show yesterday....and today printed up and constructed a new portfolio - just to mention a few of the things I have been busy at! My new sign is very exciting and I'll post it in progress as soon as I get some paint on it.
