The painting for the mural...

Image
I moved the road and made the tree larger today....

My geese...

The painting is finally starting to come alive for me. I have a lot more yet to do, but now when I look at it I see that wonderful morning on Crow Hill...
I am doing this on a new surface for me, a board that is coated for pastels. It is very rough, rougher than my usual paper and challenging to say the least!

Rainy day in the studio...

Today started out being an accounting day; thankfully, that ended and now I am painting....working, finally, on my geese and started the underpainting for the next mural proposal.

The mural studio today...

A view inside my mural studio today....hard at work on the horses....

A morning walk..

Image
A spectacular and much-needed early morning walk at Shenipsit this morning....sightings included kingfisher, chickadees, a bluebird, bluejays, flicker, two different yellow birds I have not identified yet, mallard ducks, geese and a heron....the air was alive with song...

Back to the mural studio!

How wonderful it was this morning to get back to my mural studio....most of what I did was shadowing....the painting looked flat and I worked on giving it more depth and accomplished quite a bit. Tomorrow I plan on working on the horses, the jockeys and the track. I took 2 photos to be able to see everything because of the glare.

Jesse's painting finished!

Jesse continued....

A rainy morning in the studio....

Image
My plan for this morning was to go to the mural studio and work on the sulky horses...it was sunny earlier...then the rain came and I opted to do that when the light is better there - tomorrow in the sun! So I started my newest commission, this is Jesse, a great old girl and a gift for someone's birthday next week.......

Landscapes

Two landscapes of the 3 I am bringing tonight to a prospective mural customer....after tonight I just may have to add some wildlife to them!!!
