Helga...an old painting renewed

Image
This is a painting I did a few years ago - I took it out of its old frame today and added a little shadowing, then added a new and much nicer frame to it...ready to 'take it on the road' to my art shows next month.

Unfinished paitings....

Image
I have created a clutter of unfinished paintings in my studio in the last month, so today I decided to finish two of them....by adding some wildlife.....and now they are framed and in the gallery.... "The River" is 24" x 18", "The Fence" is 12" x 9".

My biggest unfinished painting is the sulky mural, which I worked on yesterday and again this morning. I decided to hang it outside and THEN finish it out there; in my studio it is much lower than it will be outside and just too low for the detail at the bottom of the painting. We won't be able to hang it until at least next week, so the finishing of it is on hold for now........

More done on the mural today...I'm hoping to have it finished this week!

The mural today

I spent a little time with the mural today...lightened the horizon, corrected some shading, started work on the black horse in the center...

Sunday morning surprise....

This morning the Hartford Courant published one of my paintings on their Enfield I-Towns cover - they published my horse painting in August of 2008 and let me know ahead of time they were going to do that - this time it was a surprise....and a nice one!
