On the eve of my Mom's 77th birthday I brought her to the shore today for some lobster and relaxation....we went to Mystic for lobster then stopped at a gorgeous spot in Westerly, where her beloved beach roses were in full bloom...
This is certainly not a post of "Paintings in Progress" but more of what fuels the artist.

I worked in the mural studio a little this morning but it was just too hot there...so I came home to my fans and started Lia's newest painting...she is an eagle-in-residence at the Sharon Audubon Center, where they do wildlife rehab. On a Sunday morning during their festival last August I arrived early and spent some time with her alone....she had a lot to say!

Early morning at Bald Mountain Pond....when I got there I came upon a snapper starting to dig in the sand to lay her eggs. Worked on my painting some more, the foreground details especially...the remainder I can finish in my studio. It was a nice morning there - saw about 10 different kinds of birds, the snapper and a box turtle also...and painted to the bullfrog chorus!
