An adventurous morning...

Image
I spent some time at the lake early this morning.....above is a photo I took Monday morning in the wind there - and the next photo is this morning - what a difference! So I worked on details, had the sun a little when I first got there but was soon socked in with clouds, so I couldn't recapture my early morning light....and the little gnats ate me alive today...I wished for the wind! I re-did the dock for the third time; first it was too big then it was too small and now I have it the size I want it. I couldn't decide Monday if I wanted to put the building in but decided that it is a part of the charm of that spot so I added that today. I am learning the challenges of painting on location! I think that I will finish the painting in my studio with my photos from Monday, unless we get a sunny and very windy morning again real soon.

Sweetheart Lake 7:30 AM

Image
Early this morning I went out painting again....this is Sweetheart Lake, now a Girl Scout camp so I had to get special permission to be there amid the 'No Trespassing' signs to paint! It turned out the best spot was on that little wooden bridge over the waterfall....you can see my easel just to the left of the flag draped over the bridge.....after 2 hours there I took my easel and put it on the grass to take a photo. The next photo I took shows it in the process of falling over! LOL! No harm done....it's a very windy spot! I plan on going back Wednesday morning to get more done - by 9:30 the light changes so much that I lose the effect of the early morning light, so then I head home.

Painting during the thunderstorm...

A bad storm went through, so I turned off the computer and TV, unplugged them and worked on my painting! The photo came out a little dark because the natural light wasn't entirely there, but I'm happy with her progress so far.
