Putting in the background colors...the green paint was still wet, so it gave me glare when I photographed it...

Finally - I am a plein-air painter! First time painting on location...I spent a full hour there and you can see the painting so far. It is not finished but I did accomplish a lot before I lost that early morning light.

I was just going to put a photo of Lia on here, my prize-winner...if you go to my website - PatMorrisArtist.com - and go to the Wildlife Gallery 1 you will find her. I tried earlier today to add my updated mural painting plus photos from my early morning walk but am having technical difficulties....I'll get them on here ASAP!

Tonight I got my first RIBBONS! 2nd place AND People's Choice in Suffield at the TVAA Member Show....the People's Choice means the most, it's from my peers....all artists...I am beyond words. It was for "Lia" my eagle...

The photo is dark because it is such a dark cloudy day, but early this morning I started the next mural - a re-do of the Hyde Park mural that another artist started 5 years ago and never finished. It is roughly sketched out and I painted in the sky and water beginning colors - because of the shadow they look different but the sky is actually the same color as the water.

I think the next thing I will be doing is to darken the background so that Buddie really stands out...stay tuned!

The other photo was my home-away-from-home this past weekend, at the art show at the Glastonbury Audubon Center - the weather was absolutely perfect, the people were great, a wonderful show! Thanks to everyone who visited with me there!
